The key here is a belief in the super natural, in otherwords, a belief in a world beyond what we can know. The game of baseball has specific rituals and practices but it posits no world beyond the world that we live in and hence is not a religion.
Ways of believing, or religions vary greatly across the world but there are only five major world religions. Religion is important in many cultures as it often defines ethics – or standards of accepted behavior. It is no exaggeration to say that religion, and conflicts over religion has been central to much of human history.

For example, Christianity and Islam are similar in that they both have a sacred text, however the texts are different.Both religions have holy places, and some are even the same.
