Country Research Project
General Information
In this project you will choose a country from Asia, Africa, or South America, gather physical and human geographic information on it and present it as a PowerPoint presentation. There are 3 parts to the project:
1. Research Worksheet: There are two parts to this: a double-sided Asia Research Worksheet and Economic Research (single-sided).
2. PowerPoint Presentation: see below for what you need to include in the PowerPoint
3. Oral presentation given in class.
How should you proceed?
· Part 1 – Complete the information on the Research Worksheet.
· Part 2 – PowerPoint Presentation
2. Physical Geography & Features
3. Climate
4. Population and People
5. Natural Resources
6. Economy (at least 2 slides)

Present your PowerPoint presentation in class.
· Do not just read your slides!
· Use note cards if it helps you
· You need to be knowledgeable about your country
· Address your audience
How will you be graded?
· Part 1: If the Research Worksheet is handed in on time, and is complete, accurate, and neat, you get an “A.”
· Part 2: If your PowerPoint presentation meets the requirements listed above you get a B to a B+. If you exceed the requirements, such as providing more than the requited photos, maps, details, or if your presentation is exceptionally creative; your grade goes up from there. See the rubric.
· Part 3: You need to follow the points listed above and follow the rubric.

A word of caution on PowerPoint Presentations: Do not overuse colors, fonts, themes, effects or any of the other “bells and whistles” available in PowerPoint. Do not use sounds!

- Have a title page & Six sections
2. Physical Geography & Features
3. Climate
4. Population and People
5. Natural Resources
6. Economy (at least 2 slides)
- 7-12 slides, a section may have more than one slide
- You should use a balance of text and images - remember PowerPoint presentations are image driven!
- You need to have at least two maps – one of your country’s relative location.
- You need to have at least 5 photos.
- List sources on last slide
